Covid-19 Death Toll Now at 31,092

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s Covid-19 death toll stands at 31,092 with 19 more fatalities recorded yesterday.

The Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal reported four brought-in-dead (BID) cases, bringing the overall tally to 6,286.

Johor recorded the highest number of new fatalities with four followed by Sabah and Terengganu at three deaths each. Two cases each was reported at Kedah, Pahang, Perak and Selangor. Meanwhile, Kelantan reported one Covid-19 fatality.

There are currently 53,482 active Covid-19 cases in the country.

Of the total, 45,147 individuals are placed under home quarantine, 4,013 individuals at Low Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC); and 3,932 patients are hospitalised.

Currently, a total 179 patients being treated at intensive care units (ICU) with 211 of them requiring ventilator support.

As of Saturday, the CovidNow portal reported that 97.4 per cent of the adult population or 22,811,773 individuals have completed their Covid-19 vaccination.

A total 23,118,828 individuals or 98.7 per cent of adults have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Under the adolescent category aged between 12 and 17,86.9 per cent or 2,734,262 individuals have completed the vaccination.  2,832,995 Individuals or 90 per cent have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
