KUALA LUMPUR – Daily Covid-19 cases rose again with 3,684 infections reported as of noon today.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cumulative coronavirus cases now stood at 2,798,917.
3,198 coronavirus cases were reported, yesterday and 3,175 on Tuesday. Meanwhile, he said the national infectivity rate, Rt, declined to 0.99 on Wednesday.
Rt in five states were reportedly above 1.00, namely Sabah and Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, with an infectivity rate at 1.08 as well as Melaka and Negri Sembilan (1.02).
This is followed by Selangor that has a Rt at 0.99, Johor and Kedah (0.98), Penang (0.97), Pahang (0.95), Perak (0.94), Kelantan (0.92), Sarawak and Perlis (0.91), Terengganu (0.83) and Labuan (nine cases).
Rt shows the average number of people will contract the disease from a single infected person.
The national Rt was at 1.00 on Tuesday.
