Plenty of fruits and vegetables in red colour offer various health benefits. Here are eight red foods which truly promote the “health is wealth” philosophy. 

1. Beetroot

Beetroot rich in manganese, potassium, iron and vitamin C. This versatile vegetable also provides fibre and folate to help lower blood pressure. It can be stir-fried, stewed or eaten raw in salads. 

2. Rambutan

Rambutan is filled with potent antioxidants and often called a superfood. Antioxidants are critical in reducing cell damage and lowering our risk of cancer. 

3. Red Bell Pepper

Red Bell Pepper provides vitamins A, C and fibre. Its antioxidant properties are said to offer protection against cardiovascular disease, some cancers and inflammatory conditions like arthritis. 

4. Red Radish

This humble bulb is believed to be an anti-inflammatory powerhouse. It is claimed to help reduce high blood pressure, lower the risk of blood clots and even cholesterol.
