Drop In Active Covid-19 Cases; Death Toll Over 90

KUALA LUMPUR – As of yesterday, 95 Covid-19 fatalities were reported, bringing the total death toll to 33,994 across the country.

From that, 23 of the fatalities were brought-in-dead cases, according to the CovidNow website.

For the past two weeks, 28 deaths per million people in Malaysia were recorded with Perlis the highest among the states with 82 per million.

Fortunately, active Covid-19 cases dropped to 304,147 yesterday.

There are 293,435 people observing home quarantine, making up 96.5 per cent of the total active cases in the country

A total 0.7 per cent (2,123) patients are being treated at Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC), 2.7 per cent (8,213) are hospitalised and the remaining 0.2 per cent are at intensive care units (ICU) with 154 unventilated and 222 ventilated.

So far, 27,350,442 children aged 5 to 11 had received their first Covid-19 vaccine injection.

Sarawak still has the largest percentage of children who received the vaccine with 64.7 per cent, while Kelantan has the lowest with 9.1 per cent.

A total 15,357,069 booster shots for the whole population have been administered so far.
