Covid-19 Screening Tests Still Available at Flood Relief Centres

KOTA BHARU – Villagers and flood victims are encouraged to undergo Covid-19 screening tests at relief centres that remain open untill today.

State health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said health teams have been deployed to all relief centres in Kelantan since the flood hit the state two weeks ago.

“We have mobilised our health teams at the flood relief centres to conduct screening test on flood victims, villagers as well as those on duty at the centres.

“The teams will either be stationed there or mobile.

He said, “As of today, the teams provide services at relief centres which are still opened.”

Dr Zaini said such screening test were important as precaution against the spread of Covid-19 at relief centres.

Checks at SK Tok Deh relief centres showed that villagers started to queue as early as 10am for the services.

Nine health officers from Tendong Clinic were on duty at the centre .

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said total flood victims have tested positive for the virus to date was 361.

Dr Noor Hisham said the recent episode of flash flood affected a total of 65,114 victims across seven states in the Peninsular.
