PETALING JAYA – Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has refuted claims that his son was injected with air and not a Covid-19 vaccine.

“Even though some have spread lies claiming that my son was injected with air, it is good to know that more parents have faith in the vaccine,” said Khairy in a Twitter post on Wednesday (Feb 16).

Khairy’s youngest son, Raif, six-year-old, received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (Feb 13).

He also shared that all three of his sons had now been immunised against Covid-19.Khairy then said that parents who are against vaccinating their children should not disturb others  who are planning on getting their children immunized against Covid-19.

He also shared charts showing that registration for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) is on the rise.

He added that he was very happy to see that parents want to protect their children.

“More parents now have confidence in the vaccine protecting their children.” he said.

The chart showed a drastic increase in children receiving their first dose of the vaccine since it was implemented.

A total of 246,869 children aged between five and 11, or seven per cent of the group in Malaysia, have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine as of Tuesday (Feb 15).
