KUALA LUMPUR – Labuan registered the highest Covid-19 infectivity rate (Rt) in the country at 1.94 on Wednesday.
The island also witnessed a sevenfold increase in active cases, from just 21 on Feb 3 to 155 cases on Feb 9.
The national Rt value also climbed from 1.39 on Tuesday to 1.47 on Wednesday.
The country’s Rt value has marked a sharp rise for six consecutive days.
Besides Labuan, the Rt value rose above 1.5 for three other areas, namely Sarawak (1.84), Sabah (1.73) and Perlis (1.67).
Meanwhile, Negri Sembilan recorded the lowest Rt value in the country at 1.17, as of Wednesday.
