More Than 1,000 Orang Asli in Gua Musang Affected by Flood

GUA MUSANG – The state government is sending food aid to 1,198 Orang Asli who were affected by the first wave of floods, here.

State Disaster Management Division director assistant chief Nik Mohamed Noor Nik Ishak said the Orang Asli involved were from 17 settlements here, including Pos Gob, Pos Gawri, Pos Tembaga, Pos Simpor and Pos Jader.

He added that the state government would provide more than 20kg of food and daily essential items to the victims from the community, today.

“Several Orang Asli villages here were inundated by floodwaters due to the heavy downpour recently.”

“Many of Orang Asli have been affected and with the help of the Orang Asli Development Department, we will send them more food aid. We will use the service of a helicopter from the Fire and Rescue Department.”
